Street farewell for actor Tarmey

Bill Tarmey, who plays Jack Duckworth in Coronation Street, is to leave the ITV soap after some-more than thirty years.

Fans of the show have been betrothed the "fitting" depart for the renouned character, though producers though have not suggested any details.

Tarmey, 69, who became one of TV's best desired duos with his screen wife Vera, pronounced he would "be contemptible to contend goodbye to Jack".

He will stay upon TV screens for the show's 50th anniversary in December.

Tarmey's preference to retire follows the depart of singer Liz Dawn, who bowed out of the soap show in 2008 after playing Vera Duckworth for some-more than thirty years.
